Chaotic times and the role of intellectuals

In particular, times of war are chaotic times, so war itself is chaos that affects every aspect of life, nature, and evolution and their natural process.

In particular, times of war are chaotic times, so war itself is chaos that affects every aspect of life, nature and development and their natural process. In addition to war, there are also chaotic times, but regardless of the cause, chaos brings with it war, hunger, destruction and poverty and today both our country and our world are in a great chaos, and it can get even worse. Since the role of intellectuals comes to the fore much more in such times, it is important and meaningful.
Intellectuals have clear thoughts, ideas and goals. They are so clear that they shape their lives according to that clarity. They are well prepared to pay the cost of their thoughts no matter how much it costs them. They do not run away from that cost no matter what, they fight, they stand up, they fight again.
Intellectuals become a clear image for their society with these aspects. Social awareness and ideas develop by considering these images and this creates a desire for change and development in society. In this way, intellectuals become like a light on the path of development of people's lives and society.

An intellectual person leads the people and the society with their consciousness, thoughts, words, attitudes and positions. For this they pay a high price, they even give their lives; there are many examples of this in our society. Hayri Durmuş, Mazlum Dogan, Delil Dogan, Kemal Pir, Ferhat Kirtay, Sait Kirmizitoprak (Dr. Shivan), Sait Elçi, Ferid Uzun, Necmettin Buyukkaya and hundreds of other leaders and intellectuals like them are examples of this fact.

Like all concepts and facts about life and our social facts, the concept of intellectuality has been turned upside down, distorted, distorted by the invaders of our country for a long time. The assimilation policy of the occupiers caused such big problems that Kurdish students at the universities started to distance themselves from their identity and self-understanding in the 70s. They attached themselves to the language, life and opportunities that the occupiers offered them and were happy and proud of it. This was not enough, they even went to their cities, turned their noses up at the society they grew up in, and in this way they said to the society: "We are better than you. If you also want to win and develop like us, then you also have to adapt to the policies of the occupiers and get rid of your identities and yourselves". This was the desire and goal of the invaders. The purpose of this type of seizure was to blind, empty and humiliate the Kurdish community. They succeeded to a certain extent.

A young man at the university gathered five young men from the university around him, wanting to play a role in the fate of his people. He was alone, but he had thoughts, dreams and goals and he locked himself with them. The foundation of the norms of genuine Kurdish intellectualism was also laid that day. It certainly existed before that, but the genuine intellectual courage to completely separate oneself from the occupation did not develop, so the demands remained limited and these demands were made by the invaders. In the 1970s, the movement of Doctor Shivan broke this chain, but it was also defeated by a conspiracy. It is also important to mention that Dr. Shivan was one of the real symbols of Kurdish intellectuals and he took the lead in this field, but unfortunately this did not prevent the conspiracies of the invaders and traitors.
Because of the freshness of the event in Paris, I will give an example of the French intellectual "Jean-Paul Charles Aymard Sartre (1905 - 1980).
In 1954, Algeria rebelled against the French occupation. France reacted very violently to this rebellion and shed a lot of blood. Sartre, as a French intellectual, was against the occupation of France and this war. For this reason, Sartre distributed leaflets denouncing this occupation and led demonstrations in the streets of Paris.
One day, the high-ranking members of the government made a proposal to the French President Charles André Joseph Marie de Gaulle (1890 - 1970), asking him to arrest Sartre and his friends and intimidate them. De Gaulle rejected this proposal and told them: "Sartre is France. Punishing Sartre is punishing France".

Why this example?
Because when the intellectual plays his role, he can resist the power of his administration and have a role and influence on that power and on change and development. Since truth is the greatest power and the real intellectual is the speaker of truth, devotee, fighter and militant, therefore he has the greatest power.

To be able to use this great power requires great courage, and true intellectuality is courageous.
People who defend everything that the power does and says, in the language of politics itself are called clowns. This is not an intellectual act. The power that needs clowns themselves makes mistakes and that is precisely why they need clowns. Since the role of clowns is familiar so there is no need to mention it.

But it is worth saying that today, especially on social media, although the number is limited, there are intellectuals who have ideas and clear thoughts and have a role. Although this role does not have the effect that people expect, it is developing and this is a great hope for the Kurdish people and society.

I come back to the events in France:
Especially in chaotic times, the enemy uses all his power, knowledge, opportunities and partners to use chaos as an excuse for success, that is, to achieve his goal. Because the owner and creator of that chaos are the enemies and invaders themselves. Therefore, the goal is very clear. Not to see and misjudge this fact is blind and stupid, and then it means that one has bad intentions. I will not say anything about bad intentions, they are obvious, but when a person is blind and also stupid, what can happen is already obvious. The blind and stupid cannot harm their enemies and prevent their chaos. They will definitely crash here and there until they seriously injure themselves and are covered in blood and bruises.

That is exactly what they wanted to happen in Paris and they succeeded to some extent, but the statements from both sides and the final position prevented this. To blame only the Freedom Movement and blame the attitude of the police and the Paris administrators is not the bare truth. Therefore, the positions presented in this context are neither objective nor constructive.
