The Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs of the Kurdistan Regional Government issued an official statement strongly refuting reports circulating on social media and selected news outlets claiming the delivery of advanced air defense systems to Peshmerga forces, confirming that no such systems have arrived.

According to Kurdistan24, the ministry clarified: "News circulated across various social platforms regarding the receipt of air defense systems by our ministry is entirely unfounded." The statement affirmed that no official spoke outside established institutional channels.

In recent months, public debate in Iraq centered around provisions within the US National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) exploring potential air defense enhancements for the Kurdistan Region against persistent drone and missile strikes. However, no practical deployment has taken place.

The Ministry of Peshmerga reaffirmed ongoing defense cooperation with international allies to strengthen deterrent capabilities, cautioning against rumors that mislead public opinion.
